A high-linearity gain block with bypass combines the high-OIP3 / high-OP1 inter-stage amplifier with a switchable bypass path, controlled by a single digital pin. When the signal level is normal, the part operates as a standard high-linearity gain block. When the input swings high enough that amplification would generate intermod or compress the modulation, the bypass switch routes the signal around the amplifier core, replacing the gain with a small fixed insertion loss.

The bypass mode is the right answer for AGC-controlled inter-stage paths, TDD radios that need to swap transmit-path linearity for receive-path low-loss, and signal chains with strong adjacent transmitters where the amplifier would otherwise saturate. Selection criteria match the standard high-linearity gain block (OIP3, OP1, gain flatness), with the addition of bypass insertion loss and switching speed.

Common applications include cellular base-station and DAS transmit chains with on/off duty cycles, point-to-point microwave backhaul with AGC, and broadband CATV / HFC paths that have to handle a wide range of input levels. AEC-Q100 grade-2 qualified variants are denoted with a "-W" suffix.
