This is my 24th year in the Quality Profession. My first job after graduating from North Carolina A&T State University with a BS degree in Industrial Engineering, was as a Manufacturing Supervisor at a Delphi automotive plant in Moraine, Ohio. I soon returned to North Carolina and ever since, have worked in various quality positions with several local companies in the automotive, fiberoptic cable, and semi-conductor industries, with much of my career being spent as a Customer Quality Engineer.

My decision to accept a position with Guerrilla RF was a no brainer. For the first time in a LONG TIME, I’m excited about coming to work! Here, I’m able to see the immediate results of my actions and know with 100% certainty, that I’m a valued and important part of this team. I’m also a retired Major from the Air Force Reserve where I served 21 years as both an enlisted airman and an officer.

One of my most favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” I try to apply this concept every single day.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater with a bachelor's degree in Accountancy and minors in Chemistry and Criminal Justice. I commenced my career in the external audit practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP in Milwaukee. Then, I transferred out of the audit practice of Deloitte and joined the Forensics practice of Deloitte in Chicago. After two decades of delivering forensic services to clients at a couple of different global consulting firms, including work in 49 of the 50 U.S. States and 43 countries across the globe, it was time for me to stop living out of a suitcase and spend more time with my family at home in Raleigh.

Sr. Characterization Engineer

Location: Greensboro, NC

Reports to: Principal Characterization Engineer

Role Responsibilities
  • Set up, calibrate for, and conduct automated testing for various RF product types including Power Amplifiers, LNAs, Gain Blocks, Digital Step Attenuators, and RF SPDTs
  • Manage Characterization queue, determining optimal sequence of tests based on priorities which may shift daily across the above-mentioned product types and several test types (including single/multi-tone CW, modulated ACLR and EVM, Stability and Ruggedness, Noise Figure, Rise/Fall Time, etc.)
  • Create Characterization Test Plan based on Data Sheet specification, route plan for approval, and use approved plan to create machine-readable test definition file for GRF automated test software
  • Conduct first-pass analysis of test results and perform troubleshooting as needed of setup hardware, software, and DUT
  • Prepare reports of Characterization test results including compliance matrix and plots versus frequency/power in Data Sheet ready format
  • Analyze correlation with previous measurements on given DUT on same test setup and/or correlation with other test setups around the lab, then flag and resolve discrepancies as applicable
  • Assist with design of and help/oversee build of prototype hardware projects to improve test capability around the lab (RF/DC multiplexers, isolator/filter switch boxes, pulsed-enable boxes for TDD)
  • Serve as first point of contact for any issues which may occur on automated test setups around the growing lab, including to support Design, Apps, and Quality departments
  • Make minor updates as needed to GRF automated test source code (C#-based custom test executive)
Minimum Educational Qualifications
  • B.S. Electrical Engineering
Minimum Previous Experience
  • 8+ years of RF characterization/verification engineering experience
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with common RF test equipment such as Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, DC Power Supplies, and Tuners
Additional Desired Skills
  • 6+ years of C++/C# code development/maintenance related to automated RF testing
  • 4+ years of experience testing with PXIe Vector Transceivers (Keysight VXT, NI VST)
  • Clear and effective communication of data reports with outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability and eagerness to support many internal customers across several departments
  • Comfortable with quickly changing priorities depending on shifting business needs

SOI Design Engineer

Reports to: VP of Engineering

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-performance RF Switches and DSA's for automotive and 5G infrastructure applications.
  • Support stand-alone product modules as well as design for multi-chip integration
  • Collaborate with marketing and system engineers to create detailed performance specifications
  • Build the company product catalog by identifying new opportunities
  • Provide technical guidance to support sales and applications
  • Offer mentorship to junior level engineers
Minimum Educational Qualifications
  • S. Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years of product design experience
  • RF measurement equipment proficiency with ability to troubleshoot measurements
  • At least 3 products launched into high volume production
Minimum Previous Experience
  • Transistor level SOI RFIC design
  • Solid understanding of current mirrors, LDO, NVG, Digital Design w/Verilog, digital place and route
  • Circuit Design, simulation and layout using Cadence tools
  • EM simulation using Momentum, FEM, and/or HFSS
Additional Desired Skills
  • Design of I2C, I3C, MIPI
  • Clear and effective communication of data reports

PA Design Engineer

Reports to: VP of Engineering

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-performance Power Amplifiers for sub 6GHz 5G Infrastructure
  • Incorporate best amplifier class and design topology to satisfy power, bandwidth, linearity, efficiency, and thermal requirements
  • Build the company product catalog by identifying new opportunities
  • Provide technical guidance to support sales and applications
  • Offer mentorship to junior level engineers
Minimum Educational Qualifications
  • S. Electrical Engineering
  • 12+ years of RF/Microwave product development
  • Design of linear Power Amplifiers for use with and without DPD
  • Manual RF test with: Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, RF Signal Generators, and Oscilloscopes
  • At least 6 RF amplifier products launched into high volume production
Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Solid understanding of pHEMT / HEMT or HBT device physics
  • Circuit Design, simulation, and layout using ADS or Cadence
  • EM simulation using Momentum, FEM, and/or HFSS
  • Thermal management of packaged integrated circuits
Additional Desired Skills
  • Doherty Power Amplifier design
  • Clear and effective communication of data reports
